Your daily report arrives by email each morning (and as a push notification on mobile). Here's how to read it and what to do if a verdict looks off.
Reading the report
The report is titled "Plot watering report" with today's date. It lists each zone in your plot with a simple verdict and explanation.
💧 Water means this zone needs watering. The report gives an approximate number of minutes to water for — "8 minutes" or "12 minutes". This is based on your zone's flow rate and the soil's water needs right now. It's an estimate; you know your garden best.
❌ Skip means the zone doesn't need watering today. The report explains why — "heavy rain yesterday", "watered recently", or "rain forecast".
Each decision includes a brief reason in plain English so you understand what drove the call.
What the numbers mean
Watering minutes is how long to run your irrigation. If you're hand watering, it's roughly how long you'd spend on that zone. It's based on your zone's setup — the plants, the irrigation method, and the flow rate you configured.
The minutes are approximate. If your soil dries out faster than expected, you can water a bit longer next time. If it stays soggy, you can reduce it.
If a verdict looks wrong
If Agent Aqua suggests watering when you know the soil is still wet, or skips when your plants look thirsty, the reason is usually one of these:
Zone setup: the most common one. Check Configure → Zones and review:
- Is the plant list complete? If you haven't listed all your plants, Agent Aqua might underestimate water needs.
- Is the watering time realistic? An incorrectly low time can make zones seem thirstier than they are.
- Is the flow rate right? Check that it matches your actual hose or dripper.
Location or weather: if your plot's location or timezone is wrong (see setting up your plot), Agent Aqua might read weather data for the wrong place.
Unusual weather: if a sudden downpour isn't reflected in the forecast yet, or if you've had very unusual conditions, one report might be out. The next day's check will catch up.
Still puzzled? Your zone's notes (in Configure → Zones) include specific guidance Agent Aqua wrote for that zone. That might shed light on why a decision was made the way it was.
